The System, Not a Collection

We don't want to build more golf clothing. We want to build better equipment for the game. That's why we're not starting with a seasonal collection, but a small number of considered pieces, each with a purpose and designed to work together as one system.

# THE SYSTEM, NOT A COLLECTION

Golf rarely gives you the conditions you expected.

A round can start cold and still, warm up by the turn, put you into a headwind on the back nine and finish in driving rain. Over five hours and ten miles, you're constantly moving, stopping, warming up and cooling down.

Yet most golf clothing is still developed as individual products.

A polo. A midlayer. A gilet. A waterproof.

We wanted to approach it differently.

When we started developing the first HOLDFAST products, we began with the round itself.

What does a golfer actually need from the moment they leave the first tee to the moment they walk off the eighteenth? What changes over those five hours? What needs to work on its own, what needs to layer, and what doesn't need to exist at all?

Those questions became the foundation of what we're calling The Founding Kit.

A small group of products, each with a clearly defined job, developed together as one system.

EVERY PIECE HAS TO EARN ITS PLACE

We're not starting with a list of products we think a golf brand should sell.

We're starting with problems we want to solve.

The polo needs to perform on its own, but also disappear beneath a layer when the temperature drops.

The trouser needs to move comfortably for five hours, deal with wet ground and changing conditions, and still be something you'd want to wear when the round is over.

The midlayers need to provide warmth without restricting the swing.

The gilet needs protection where it's needed without unnecessary bulk.

And when the weather properly turns, the outer layer needs to protect the entire system underneath it.

Nothing exists simply to fill a gap in a collection.

Every product has to justify why it's there.

BUILT TOGETHER

Thinking this way changes how we're developing the kit.

We're not simply asking:

Is this a good polo?

We're asking:

- How does it perform beneath the midlayer?

- Can you swing freely when the whole system is being worn?

- What happens to moisture when you're walking hard?

- Can we provide warmth without adding unnecessary weight?

- What happens when the temperature changes halfway through the round?

- How much equipment do you actually need to carry when the forecast is uncertain?

Those questions affect everything from fabric weight and breathability to fit, construction and where seams are positioned.

And sometimes a decision on one product changes what we need from another.

That's exactly how we want it to work.

We're developing the Founding Kit as a system from the beginning, rather than hoping a collection of individual products works together afterwards.

EIGHT GREAT PIECES. NOT SEVENTY AVERAGE ONES.

There will be fewer HOLDFAST products at the beginning.

Deliberately.

We're not interested in filling rails, chasing seasons or creating another version of something simply because golf brands are expected to sell it.

The Founding Kit is our starting point.

Each piece will move through development, prototyping and proper field testing before we're prepared to put HOLDFAST on it.

Some will change significantly.

Some ideas won't survive testing.

Some products will take longer than we expected.

That's part of building this properly.

If something isn't good enough, we'll keep working on it.

And if we don't believe a product deserves to exist, we won't make it.

THIS IS JUST THE START

Starting with fewer products doesn't mean we're thinking small.

Quite the opposite.

The ambition is to build the most considered system of golf equipment we can — and then, over time, make that system complete.

Equipment for the first tee in April rain.

For eighteen holes into a coastal wind.

For carrying through winter.

For thirty-six holes in summer.

For the drive home and whatever comes afterwards.

Different conditions. Different combinations. The same system underneath it all.

We're not building around the rhythm of a fashion calendar.

We're building around the reality of playing golf.

This is where it starts.

The Founding Kit.

Stay Your Course.
